This treatment is ideal for anyone, either as a first visit, or for those who have previously received foot treatment. The Podiatrist will first examine the health of your feet and record any medical history so that advice can be given on the best way to keep your feet healthy. Your nails will be expertly cut and cleaned, any hard, callused skin will be reduced, and corns gently removed. Your treatment will conclude with an application of emollient.
Lower back, knee and foot pain may be directly related to poor foot function. The biomechanical assessment is a comprehensive assessment of the lower limbs involving the quality, and range of motion of the joints and muscles.
Following a consultation with your podiatrist, or other health professional you may be advised that you would benefit from a specially made insole, a heel raise, or a redistributive insole to reduce the pressure on certain areas of your feet. The insoles are individually made to your specific requirements and designed specifically to fit in your shoes, it is advisable to bring along a couple of pairs of the shoes that you wear most frequently to ensure the insole fits correctly.
The foot health check is ideal for everyone as part of your regular healthcare regime. The podiatrist will assess your foot health including circulation, nail and skin condition and any specific problems you may have. They will advise on how best to take care of your feet yourself, and recommend any appropriate treatment if necessary. Their advice on the best style of footwear for your comfort and health will be invaluable. This service is recommended for people with Diabetes, who ideally should have an annual foot check.
This procedure can be used to correct recurring in growing, or problem toenails.
You will first require a Foot Health Check to enable the Podiatrist to assess your feet and to advise you if the treatment is appropriate. If so, the podiatrist will talk you through the procedure and answer any questions you may have. You will need to give details of your medical history to ensure that it is possible for you to undergo the procedure. On the day of the surgery you will be given local anesthetic injections in your toe, this may sting a little. The offending part of your nail will be removed, and an appropriate chemical applied to prevent any re-growth. This treatment is successful in 93% of cases. The toe will then be dressed, and you will have to return in a few days for the podiatrist to check and re-assess the toe. You will be given advice on how to care for your toe at home. It can take between 4 and 8 weeks for the toe to heal.
This is suitable for existing patients who have a single foot problem which requires urgent attention. We guarantee to see you for an emergency within 24 hours.
